Powered by a 55kW hydrogen engine, it delivers the same reliable performance as diesel but with zero carbon emissions. Extensively tested with over 25,000km of on-road validation, it offers the trusted JCB quality you expect.

Driving Down CO₂ Emissions
The JCB hydrogen digger provides a fully zero-emission option for excavation, loading, and roading work, while still matching the performance of a traditional diesel machine.
When used on a standard duty cycle, the hydrogen backhoe loader has the potential to cut CO₂ output by up to 9,000 tonnes each year. As it doesn’t rely on a fixed power supply, it can be operated in a wide range of locations, delivering clean performance wherever it’s needed.
Built for On-Road Efficiency
JCB hydrogen diggers are road-legal in the UK, making it easy to travel directly to site while eliminating transport-related fuel costs.
They support net-zero operations across material handling, loading, and excavation tasks, helping reduce on-site emissions. The 6-speed autoshift transmission with torque lock improves driving efficiency, cutting travel time by up to 10% and enhancing overall performance through cleaner hydrogen power.
Built for Maximum Flexibility
The 3CX hydrogen combines the capability of a dumper, excavator, and forklift in a single machine, with the added benefit of travelling directly to site.
A wide range of attachments allows you to adapt quickly to different tasks, while the hydraulic circuit can also power handheld tools for greater jobsite versatility. The dipper-mounted hammer and loader end enable efficient material handling and loading without the need to remove the breaker.
