JCB Machine Health Checks
JCB Machine Health Check
Regular Machine Health Checks (MHCs) are essential for preserving your equipmentβs performance and safeguarding your long-term investment.
JCB recommends completing an MHC whenever a trained dealer engineer performs service, maintenance, diagnostics, or repairs. During the check, components are assessed and rated:
- RED β Safety critical
- AMBER β Advisory
- GREEN β Satisfactory
This grading system offers a clear overview of your machineβs condition and highlights any necessary actions to maintain safe and efficient operation.
Machine Health Check Standards
Whether you're operating a Backhoe Loader or a forklift, every JCB Machine Health Check uses a three-tier status system to assess component condition:
- RED β Indicates critical damage that affects safety and functionality. These issues require immediate attention, and your engineer will recommend corrective action.
- AMBER β Highlights components that are worn or below optimal condition but not yet safety-critical. If left unresolved, these may escalate to RED status over time.
- GREEN β Confirms that components are functioning properly with no impact on performance. These items are monitored and reviewed at the next service interval.
Why Machine Health Checks Matter
Even if your machine seems to be running smoothly, hidden issues can go unnoticed without expert inspection. JCB Machine Health Checks offer key advantages:

- Condition Awareness β Know the exact state of your machine and avoid costly surprises.
- Asset Value β Preventative care can enhance resale value.
- Reduced Downtime - Address potential faults early to keep your machine working longer.
